Hi. I'm Vern--or more formally--Vern Westgate...

Why this background information? My intent is to favorably influence your decision to engage my writing, editing or consulting services...

Formative Years:
I survived K through 12 schooling by writing well...I was a lousy student unless I found the subject interesting...(My part of the class made the top half possible.) I graduated to the surprise of many.

The Korean War was on. Being drafted was imminent so I joined the Air Force, spent a year on a mountain in Korea, married Barbara and served out the rest of my four-year hitch. Three kids appeared in quick succession so I went to college days and worked nights for a while. When I made the move from technician to engineer, I worked days and went to college at night. This need to combine family responsibility and focus professional activitie brought a degree of maturity. The evidence is I made the Dean's List in college and management positions on the job.
